Ethio Telecom, in partnership with Kulu Network, has launched Elff Plus, a music streaming service offering unlimited access to Ethiopian and African music and music videos.

Available on mobile web, iOS, and Android, songs on the platform can be downloaded for offline use, and the app comes in 4 languages (English, Amharic, Afaan Oroomo, and Tigrigna). Elff Plus which costs two Birr per day and is the third streaming platform to launch in Ethiopia in the last four months.

“Beyond connectivity, our company has intensively continued its effort to digitize the day-to-day business activities of our society and be a leading digital solutions provider,” Ethio Telecom stated on its social media platform yesterday following a launch event for Elff Plus.

The network provider also signed two other partnership agreements yesterday: one with Zergaw Internet Service Provider on the provision of cloud solution services and another with Shedli Trading Plc to jointly provide teledrive mobile database services.

Teledrive, a cloud storage service similar to Google Drive, offers customers a secure database to store large files such as photos, videos, and other data on their mobile phones. The service enables customers to access their data from anywhere and recover it in case of loss or damage to their mobile phones.

On the other hand, Ethio Telecom’s Cloud Solution provides users with infrastructure and software storage.

On Elff Plus, Kulu Network is responsible for content management and co-marketing while working with Ethio Telecom based on a revenue-sharing model.

This is Kulu Network’s second partnership with Ethio Telecom following Elff Games, Ethiopia’s first play-to-earn gaming service, where players get a chance to earn in-game assets that can be transferred to real-world valuable resources.

The media and telecommunication company also has Mehaleye, an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo online audio distribution platform that enables users to purchase, stream, and download mezmurs (worship songs), teachings, and Kidase (liturgy).

Aster Awoke’s new album which was released on Sewasew last week was able to get 500,000 streams within the first 48 hours of its release.
