Avetol has launched a video-on-demand streaming service, the first of its kind in Ethiopia. Avetol is new media or video-on-demand over-the-top (OTT) content platform streaming service allowing users to easily access Ethiopian content curated for each person directly to one’s preferred devices, anywhere and everywhere.
The service also creates access to top selected movies from its mass library, favorite series, shows from last season, and current season with multiple language support. The Avetol streaming library allows users to access favorite channels, latest news, sport, entertainment, Documentary series, and more, along with live TV on all user’s devices, from your phone to TV continuing from your computer with a seamless experience.
The introduction of the new platform will be a piece of great news for the growing number of internet users in the country who were challenged by the lack of local dedicated digital video services.
Most people tend to view Ethiopian contents on social media, which opens for more illegal and unauthorized distribution, fake and false contents, which discouraging creators and affect as an industry.
“We are trying to fill the gap allowing creators to engage with the Ethiopian audience directly, and this will put Ethiopian entertainment industry one step forward, to reach more viewers around the globe, allow creators to make high standard world-class contents and easily deliver to their preferred audiences while opening new opportunities.”
Avetol has been closely working and partnering with content providers (Associations, Medias, Production Studios, and the individual create.) to add more Movies, shows, Series, and live TV to the system. Prior to making content available for its users, Avetol ensures basic requirements for secure, legal, and authorized distribution are fulfilled.
Avetol is properly designed to integrate with other video services providers (like YouTube, Vimeo, and other related systems) to allow content owners (Medias and production Studios) to a seamless transition to the system and to use both systems to deliver their contents, reach more audiences at the same time.
During the launching program, Mr. Morka Tesfaye CEO and Co-Founder of Avetol said, “We are planning to deliver contents for free with advertising and a monthly subscription packages, with a small service fee, will be affordable for the viewer and also reasonable return for content creators.”
