Ethiopian Startups to Pitch in Japan

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Ethiopia (MinT) are delighted to announce the upcoming “Ethiopia Startup Pitch Event in Japan.”

The event, part of the Project NINJA (Next Innovation with Japan), will gather investors, companies from Japan and around the world, and individuals interested in Africa. In conjunction with the event, officials from MinT, including the Minister, State Minister, and other representatives, will join Ethiopian startups participating in the acceleration program on a trip to Japan.

Following a rigorous three-round selection process, six Ethiopian startups, Taywan, Fibermart Trading, Gebeta Software, Guzo Technologies, Sehamch, and Wecare, have been carefully chosen from a pool of approximately 100 companies.

These innovative businesses will have the opportunity to pitch and showcase their ideas, providing valuable insights into the current state of business in Africa.

We extend a cordial invitation for you to join us via webinar and witness this exciting event firsthand which will be held in June 20, 2023. As part of our Ninjas’ project, we have provided extensive training and mentorship to these startups, ensuring they are well-prepared to present their ideas. The event will take place in Tokyo, with the six startups and MinT participating online from Tokyo to Ethiopia while they are in Japan for training. You will also have the opportunity to hear Japanese companies speak about African business!

On the day of the event, the Zoom voting feature will allow online participants and judges to vote on the best startups among the six participating companies. Your vote will determine the first place winner!
